Day One of the Adult Entertainment Virtual Convention 2012

Friday, February 24th, 2012

Today was day one of the first ever adult entertainment virtual convention, appropriately named the same, AEVC. The event is hosted by Red Light Center and sponsored by Cam Contacts, XBIZ, Vstroker, Loki Cash, YNOT, Sexxxtons, Girlfriends Films, Pornstar Tweet and Melonson Adult Productions. The first day was the B2B event and included an opening address by Stephen Yagielowicz, Senior Editor of XBIZ; as well as topical seminars on the role of social media in adult entertainment, laws you need to know about and strategies on monetizing virtual world and gaming websites.

As it was the first day of the first virtual convention of any type for some people, there were some issues with figuring out how to get where you need to be, some audio breakdowns and freezing of the software, but for free, it was a minor inconvenience. Saturday and Sunday will be the B2C portion of the show and judging by the booths I saw today, the vendors ware ready to wow them. Even though it is billed as B2C for the next two days, there are plenty of informational panels happening on both days that are targeting adult webmasters. Like I said, registration is free, so check it out. It is better than going out in the snow and cold anyway. (more…)

The Phoenix Forum 2012 Coming Soon

Saturday, February 11th, 2012

The Phoenix Forum 2012 will be held from March 29 through April 1, and PimpsPromo will be there again. This is the 13th annual forum and for the 8th consecutive year it is being held at the Tempe Mission Palms in Tempe, AZ. The Phoenix Forum is one of the few remaining B2B adult webmaster events that seems to attract a large number of affiliates as opposed to primarily program owners and those catering to them, so naturally it is one of the more fun webmaster shows. It does not hurt that Arizona is usually very nice that time of year, so people from all those cold places come flocking to see old friends and make new business. The pool area makes for some great networking and people watching.

Registration for the 2012 Phoenix Forum is currently $275 per person and will be $350 at the door. They have packages set up for those of you that want to bring talent, so I suggest you check out their site for more details. The Tempe Mission Palms always sells out fast, so if you have not gotten a room yet, I previously provided a list of nearby hotels with a map. (more…)
