Photos from Friday night in Chicago

Saturday, June 11th, 2011

After warming up after the bus tour, a couple of us headed out to Greek Town and The Parthenon, a Greek restaurant I had the pleasure of dining at a few years ago. If you like Greek food, and are in Chicago, this place is tough to beat. Be sure to bring an appetite. After dinner, I headed over to The Hunt Club for the Speakeasy Social, sponsored by Netbilling.

Photos from the Chicago bus tour

Saturday, June 11th, 2011

I have been to Chicago many times, and have been to many of the tourist spots as well as driven fairly extensively around the city. Since the weather Friday was not being very cooperative I had reservations about whether or not to go on the double decker bus tour. I am glad I threw on a hoodie and went for it. You get a different perspective when you are not the one doing the driving.

YNOT Summit: last minute discounts

Thursday, June 2nd, 2011

As I announced a few weeks ago, PimpsPromo will be attending the upcoming YNOT Summit 2011, to be held June 23 – 25, 2011 in San Francisco. If you have yet to purchase your passes for the show or made your hotel reservations, this reminder is targeted towards you.

First off, the show passes are currently $179.99. If you use the discount code of “FCX” (minus the quotation marks) you will save $45. I am not sure how long they are going to keep this code active, so once again, I urge you to get your passes as soon as possible. At the door, the price will be $249.99 and no discounts will be available. Unlike prior years, you will not be able to get into any of the off site parties and events without a show pass. The Smash Up Derby opening party and Kink in the Castle are two events to not be missed, so get your passes.

Secondly, room rates are probably going up. YNOT Summit arranged for room rates of $149/per night provided you made your reservations by June 1, 2011. I screwed up and waited until today to make my reservations. Instead of using the online reservations, I called the Holiday Inn reservation line at (800) 972-3124, and they accepted the group code of “CYN” to get the discounted rate. I do not know if it would have worked online or not, but their website indicated the rate would have likely been $190/night. To be safe, I would suggest calling and do it immediately as I do not know how long they will honor it. (more…)
