The Phoenix Forum will hold their 15th annual adult webmaster event March 27-29, 2014 at the Tempe Mission Palms Hotel, the 10th consecutive year that the hotel has hosted the event and PimpsPromo will be there again photographing all the activity. While the schedule has not yet been released, history has shown that it will be a nice mix of education, networking and lots of fun. Tempe’s weather probably plays no small part in attracting attendees as webmasters from around the world come to thaw out after their long harsh winters.

Online registration for The Phoenix Forum is $275 per attendee and the cost will only be higher if you register onsite, so do yourself a favor and register early. The host hotel has once again sold out, so if you have not secured a room yet you might want to visit The Phoenix Forum website for a list of alternative hotels that are close to the Tempe Mission Palms.

Friday was day three of the adult entertainment industry’s B2B conference, XBIZ 360 which was held at the W Hollywood Hotel in Hollywood, CA. The day consisted of speed networking as well as seminars and workshops on such topics as mobile traffic, billing and the future of Google Glass and porn. As is pretty typical on the last day of a three day show and the morning after a party with an open bar, the attendance levels were the lowest that I had noticed in the time I was there. Between nursing hangovers and preparing for the 12th annual XBIZ Awards it was predictable that there would be fewer people participating.

The 12th annual XBIZ Awards was held at the Century Plaza Hotel and hosted by Jenna Jameson. Thursday was day two of the adult entertainment B-to-B event, XBIZ 360 being held at the W Hollywood Hotel. Today was the second day of the three day event and the first of the two dedicated to the digital media (Internet) and film content (video) sides of the industry. The day began with a couple of hours of speed networking for the Internet side while the video side had a two seminars; one was about 2257 inspections and the other was about condoms in porn. There were various panels and workshops throughout the day as well as keynotes by Anthony Previte of FriendFinder Networks and Scott Taylor of New Sensations.

After a brief interlude the main floor of the hotel was ready for the mix and meet; I think it was there that it became clear that this was a very well attended event. Any speculation that the timing of this show was all wrong were laid to rest, in my opinion anyway. (more…)
